Lesson Policies and Guidelines
I work very hard and am committed to creating a positive learning environment for my students. I spend time preparing for each individual lesson. For these reasons, it is important that all students and parents understand and abide by the lesson policies as outlined below.
Scheduling and Payment policy
Lesson payments are charged by the month and are due by the 1st lesson of each month prior to lessons being given.
You are agreeing to recurring weekly lessons and will be billed accordingly.
Any cancelled lesson will made-up at another time either by extending the next lesson(s) or by scheduling a make-up lesson on a different day/time.
The number of lessons billed is based solely on the number of lessons for your given day in the next month (e.g., If your lesson day is Monday and there are four Mondays in the month, you will be billed for four lessons; if there are five Mondays in the month, you will be billed for five, etc.). Lessons are pro-rated for new students according to their start date.
Below please find a payment reference chart that lists the number of lesson days per month for the 2023 calendar year:

In-Person Lessons
In-Person lessons are held at my home studio Little House Lessons, 14 Johnson St, Haverhill MA, 01830.
Lessons will officially end 5 minutes early to allow for entrance and exit time.
Please stay home if you are sick. Even if it’s just a cold. We will make up the time another day.
Zoom Lessons
You’ll receive a Zoom Link in a Lesson Reminder Email that will arrive 24 hours before each lesson. The link will always be the same, so old links will also work if the email doesn’t arrive for any reason.
Materials will be available in a linked Google Drive Folder
Missed/Cancelled Lessons and Make-Up policy
Consistency and commitment are the keys to developing and mastering any pursuit, including music. Therefore, students are encouraged to attend every lesson in order to advance their skills.
I require notification a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the lesson that will be missed.
If you cancel at least 24 hours in advance the lesson will be made up at another time.If I do not receive at least 24 hours notice the lesson will be considered forfeit. Missed Lessons with NO notice will be considered forfeit.
If I need to cancel your lesson for any reason you will be given a make-up lesson. I will follow my own policies and give you 24 hours notice via text and/or email if I am cancelling your lesson.
If there is an emergency (e.g., either you or I are sick, car trouble), and 24 hours notice isn’t possible I will offer you a make-up lesson.
There are no lessons on the following dates:
Wednesday, January 01, 2025 New Year’s Day

NOTE: I do not follow the public or private school holiday calendar.
Your Personalized Lesson Plan
I personalize each lesson plan to your (and/or your childs) goals and interests. Lessons can be video recorded and if so are available for viewing by both parents and students in your Google Drive Folder. If there’s anything you’ve forgotten throughout the week you can always go back and view the lesson. You may opt NOT to have the lesson recorded.
Summer Lessons
Students are highly encouraged to continue lessons throughout the summer months to maintain their level of proficiency. Students who stop find they are spending a month or two in the fall catching up to where they left off at the start of the summer. Lessons therefore continue as regularly scheduled through July and August.
Discontinuing Lessons
*Students wishing to discontinue lessons must give notice BEFORE the lessons are charged for the month.
